Kabras
The Luhya sub nation of Kabras shares its territory with the Tachoni (North Kabras). Some clans from the two sub nations are of Kalenjin origin. In fact the name Kabras is thought to be of Kalenjin origin with ethnic purists preferring the more Luhya-sounding Abalasi. They share the constituency of Malava with Abatachoni. Most of the recorded information about them is courtesy of Prof Gideon Were. During his research in the late 1960's, he spoke to Madayo Shirenje, their chief spokesman at the time who said that Munyala was their earliest known ancestor.
